Re: CHIC : GRANDE ANNONCE
Ha! If only one of your wishes actually came true, that would be amazing. As for the website, while it does look great at first glance, it’s not really what you’d call “big news.” There’s nothing we didn’t already know, aside from a different layout.
Did you take a look at the shop? Honestly, it feels like some so-called design agency got their hands on it and completely missed the mark. I’m really disappointed with the t-shirts. The letter spacing in the CHIC logo is far too tight, which surprised me, or else it’s overloaded with unnecessary gimmicks. It doesn’t look professional. It’s not CHIC. I don’t recognize either the spirit or the iconic logo. There was so much more they could have done by building on the original designs.
The bucket hat is nice (the letter spacing is much better, admittedly), but it’s missing that little something that clearly ties it to the band. As for the “retro” sweatshirt, there’s nothing retro about it. It’s too busy, hard to read, and frankly ugly. And “The CHIC Organization Ltd.” is absurdly large and very poorly placed, unless the goal is to turn yourself into a walking Times Square billboard. Ridiculous.
Well, that’s it. I’ve said my piece. I guess it’s just the result of being disappointed once again by announcements that always fall flat.
All the best :-)
