fun

It is actually funny
to be THE most intensive Chic-fan in the world
1978-85
And then 25 years later be somebody who is unpopular on the Chic-site.
(it was Chic 24h for me
I am from a very rich family, so I did not concentrate on anything else than Chic for 7 years)

I don´t mind, and I certainly am not here to bother anyone.
I thought it could maybe be fun to say hello to you for both of us.
But in fanclubs intensity does not count,
only things to collect count
and this is probably also how it should be.

Chic is today recognized
but the first recognition were: Money
No ultimate talent stays ultimate after recognition.

"once we got our big homes and all that
our music-capabilities were lost"
(BERNARD EDWARDS to a musicmagazine, ca. 1986)

It is true that Prince has had a lot of money for a long time and his creative process is still intact, but
Only "Controversy" made me buy...
but I know what you mean.
But I was not talking about level intact, I was talking about level Chic1978, the highest level of any art or culture anywhere in the world in this year. They go down to level intact when they get recognized by the press, especially the mainstream-press.
It is an old curse from the beginning of times, and it still works.

The first serious article i wrote about Bernard and Nile,
even though I was looking everywhere all the time,
was by a totally unknown musicjournalist (Robert Palmer) in a controversial magazine, it was in ca.1979.
The interview took place in Nile Rodgers neat Manhattan apartment, Nile was recovering from something that had happened at basketball.
Bernard and Nile were, to say the least, very little pleased with American culture in general...

These were the good times.
They were not yet part of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ben euh, non...

I agree with Wonder, I'm not sure that Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers were involved into business only. I think that they loved funk music as the way they played it.
( tony thompson was too ).
Maybe they lost their influence during all these success years ( 1977-1983 ) but as Bernard said "This shit ( CHIC's music ) is bigger than us" !!!
Have Fun Again, I want you to have fun...
